A tasty bite in Morningside

On a recent warm evening, S and I decided to grab a bite at Community in Morningside Heights. This restaurant and juice bar has a sleek, modern design, but still manages to convey a relaxing neighborhood vibe. Community prides itself on serving healthy, organic comfort food and I'm happy to report that our meal was outstanding. Since the weather was delightful, we opted for sitting outside underneath the trees on Broadway which is a great spot for people (and dog) watching.

First, we attacked the Zucchini Scallion Pancakes. These crunchy round cakes were perfectly crisp on the outside and wonderfully creamy on the inside. Served with a sour black vinegar dipping sauce, these little treats were packed with flavor. We tried to eat them slowly, and eventually agreed to split the last pancake. Yes, they were that good.

I ordered Crispy Wild Organic Salmon which came in a veggie filled broth with rice vermicelli. It was flavorful, clean and the perfect portion size. S opted for the Natural Grass Fed Beef Burger with hand cut fries. Did I mention the burger came with white cheddar? Delicious.

We ended the evening with a trip to Pinkberry (highly recommend the pomegranate with strawberry, blueberry and raspberry toppings)

and a walk through Riverside Park.

I have quite a little crush on the neighborhood now...
